Questions, answered.
When can I download Laven?
Laven is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone. Until then it is in beta testing through TestFlight.
Is Laven free?
Yes. Eight essential sounds — white, pink and brown noise, a box fan, ocean waves, a heartbeat, rain and a hair dryer — play all night for free, with a sleep timer up to 60 minutes, one Bedtime Preset, favorites and the Small Home Screen widget. Laven Pro is an optional upgrade for all 50 sounds, 12-hour timers, Mix, more presets, Medium and Large widgets and app icons, monthly, yearly or as a one-time purchase.
Will the sound stop in the middle of the night?
No. Without a timer, Laven plays until you stop it — on Free and Pro. Recordings loop seamlessly, and playback continues with the screen locked.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Every sound is built into the app, so Laven works in airplane mode, in a hotel or on the road with no signal.
How loud should white noise be for a baby?
Quiet — about as loud as a soft shower. Keep the phone well away from your baby’s bed rather than next to it, and keep the volume low. Laven is not a medical device; if you have concerns about your child’s sleep or hearing, talk to your pediatrician.
Can I combine sounds?
Yes, with Laven Pro. Open Mix from the player to layer up to three sounds, each with its own volume, or start from a ready mix: Rainy Night, Womb Hug or Car Nap.
Can I start a sound from the Home Screen?
Yes. The Small widget shows tonight’s sound and starts it in one tap, free. With Laven Pro, Medium and Large widgets add your favorites and recent sounds. Pause or play from the Lock Screen and Control Center; AirPlay and Bluetooth speakers work too.
What data does Laven collect?
None. There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no server. Your favorites and presets stay on your iPhone — see the Privacy Policy for details.
Is there an iPad or Mac version?
Laven launches on iPhone first, for iOS 17 and later.
